The Hoosiers lost their worst game of the season to Minnesota by 21 points, tied with their 21 point loss against Duke late November.

Indiana seemed rather uninterested in winning from the get-go. The effort level of the team was laughable aside from a select few. Had Al Durham missed one of his jumpers at the end of the game, it would have been the worst loss for the program since January of 2017 when they lost by 30 at Michigan .

Led by Jordan Murphy, Minnesota opened up the floor and the offense flowed for easy buckets.

The Gophers, who came into the game shooting 30 percent from three – last in the Big Ten, shot 48.3 percent from the field and an impressive 54.5 percent from behind the arc shooting 12-for-22. Murphy had the Hoosiers scrambling around all day recording 23 points along with 11 rebounds. He also was able to get to the line for a total of 13 free throws converting 9 of them.

In the post-game press conference, Miller said

"“We didn’t play with the fight, the urgency that you need on the road this time of year.”"

The team hasn’t shown fight in most games of this recent stretch and it is evident with the results they’ve had. There is no chemistry evidenced by the 1 assist they recorded in the first half, finishing with just eight on the game.

This led to Indiana shooting 2-for-17 for behind the arc during the desolate contest. Without chemistry, they can’t, and don’t want to, move the ball to find an open shot.

Juwan Morgan led the Hoosiers with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Gabe Kalscheur added 20 points for Minnesota, one of three Golden Gophers above 18 points.

When Romeo Langford committed to IU, fans had championship aspirations. A 21 point loss to Minnesota solidified the Hoosier faithful’s unhappiness with how this season has turned out.

If you thought the Hoosiers had it easier from here on out, you thought wrong. Their next four matchups are against No. 17 Purdue, No. 21 Iowa (in Iowa City), No. 20 Wisconsin, and No. 11 Michigan State.

A bracket created by Joe Lunardi on Thursday put Indiana as a 13 seed needing to win a play-in game against Oklahoma. After the blowout today, they will be on the outside looking in.

The team’s upcoming schedule is one of the toughest in the country and it would take a miracle for them to make the tournament barring a late season run that includes winning at least two of the four ranked matchups to boost their quality wins résumé.
