Indiana basketball is hosting a five-star recruit this weekend when the Hoosiers play host to Ohio State on Sunday in Bloomington.

Caleb Furst, a five-star forward, will be in Bloomington this weekend to watch Indiana take on Ohio State.

Ranked no. 31 in the country by 247Sports composite, Furst is a Fort Wayne native in the class of 2021 and plays for Blackhawk Christian school.

Still very early on in his recruitment, Furst has already been on campus multiple times, most recently in Bloomington in October and for Hoosier Hysteria this year as well.

Offers from Butler, Purdue, Iowa, Northwestern, Ohio State and Indiana, amongst others, Furst had this to say to 247Sports regarding his game and what he wants to improve on.

"“I’ve been trying to work on everything. Most importantly, I am trying to be a threat from anywhere on the court, while also improving on my strength and my ability to finish inside.”"

Regarding the Hoosiers, Furst said he was excited to “continue to build a relationship” and “looking forward to seeing the plan that they have for me”.

The 6-foot-8 forward has great length and size that allows him to score over defenders. A smooth lefty, he has the ability to stretch the floor, but hasn’t found a consistent enough jump shot to control the defenses attention from 15+ feet. Furst also has a great ability to run the floor, something you can’t really teach.

A terrific rebounder, especially on the offensive glass, Furst does struggle at times to finish through contact as he is only 205 pounds, and lacks a lot strength. What he lacks in strength, he makes up for with his footwork.

Still growing into his body, Furst is terrific when it comes to having a variety of moves on the low block, but loves to use a drop step in order to create space and finish above the rim.

With the Hoosiers lacking size in the front court this season, it’s a need Archie Miller is addressing for future classes.
