Last week three-star recruit Nahziah Carter made headlines after dunking on the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2018. This weekend he committed to Washington over Indiana.

The college basketball recruiting cycle for 2017 is coming to a close. The Indiana Hoosiers still have one scholarship available for this upcoming season. Archie Miller has been patient when deciding who to select to fill that role.

One of the potential Indiana recruits includes three-star Nazhiah Carter. If you are a college basketball junkie, you might have seen his name make recent headlines after dunking on the No. 1 recruit in the 2018 class at the Nike EYBL. You might have also heard of his name because of his family. It was revealed that rapper Jay-Z was his uncle and was seen last week at his tournament.

Carter made his decision over the weekend to stay in the class of 2017 and play at Washington this upcoming season. Carter is ranked the No. 243 recruit in his class according to 247Sports and was previously committed to play for Archie Miller at Dayton.

After Archie Miller filled the role at Indiana as head coach, Carter reopened his recruitment process. Archie Miller had a handful of recruits at Dayton reopen their recruitment after his departure including McKinley Wright. Miller, unfortunately, has come up empty persuading them to come to Indiana as Wright committed to Colorado a few weeks prior.

Indiana still has some time to decide on who they will have eventually fill that scholarship role. It might come within the program but Archie Miller can rest assure that he at least has the three recruits signed by Tom Crean playing at Assembly Hall this fall. The return of Rob Johnson for his senior season and the new core of the Hoosiers back for their sophomore seasons will make for an interesting roster.
