The Indiana University Athletics Marketing Department has been awarded the Best Video Promotion Award in 2011-2012 by the NACMA. The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators held the awards show in Dallas, TX this past June. In its 9th year, the NACMA awards has recognized the nation’s best collegiate marketing efforts across the nation. Each year, they present 13 awards to schools in three different school categories based on size and conference. This year, a record 950 entries were received.
Once again, the winning video features Christian Watford’s game-winning shot against Kentucky. It seems as if this moment in Indiana basketball history has really grown legs immediately. The video, titled “This is Indiana” on YouTube, is a mashup of press conferences, game clips, and fan montages. The mix is edited and produced by DJ Porter, who has received a great deal of acclaim for his work with ESPN and the sport industry in general.
It’s a very nice win for the behind-the-scenes guys in the athletic department. It comes as no surprise that Indiana’s marketing team really knows how to give the competition “the business”.
